Snakes & Ladders Features

What this version of the 100-square race includes, and the choices it lets your table make. The rules themselves are on the how-to-play page.

Two ways to finish

Every match begins with a Choose Game Rules step. Classic Mode ends the moment someone reaches square 100. Last One Standing keeps the board going: each player who reaches 100 takes the next finishing place and drops out of the turn order, and the result screen shows the full order once everyone is home. In an online room the host chooses, and everyone sees the choice in the lobby.

House rules you can switch

  • Exact roll to finish — on by default: overshoot 100 and your token stays put. Turn it off and any roll that reaches 100 wins.
  • Six rolls again — on by default: a six earns a bonus roll, with at most two sixes in a row.
  • Dice timer — 30 seconds to roll by default, adjustable or off. When it runs out the turn passes; nobody rolls on your behalf.

All three live in Settings.

The board

A hand-drawn jungle board with the traditional numbering — square 1 at the bottom left, snaking up to 100 — nine ladders and ten snakes. The biggest ladder runs from 28 to 84, and the biggest drop is the snake on 99, one square from the finish, which sends you down to 27. The full list is on the how-to-play page.

Ways to play

  • Against the AI — race one to five computer players, who roll on their own. Play with AI
  • Pass & play — two to six players on one device, each with a name, avatar and token colour. Play with Friends
  • Online rooms — two to six players on their own devices, joined with a code or invite link, with quick messages, emoji and animated reactions. A player who disconnects is skipped after a short grace period so the race keeps moving. Play Online

Race statistics

Statistics track games played, won and lost, win rate, your best game by fewest rolls, total rolls and sixes, snakes encountered, ladders climbed, longest win streak, wins against the AI, online wins and pass & play tables. They are stored on your device, separately from Ludo's.

Look and sound

  • Dice skins and board themes in Customize, kept separate from your Ludo choices.
  • Night and daylight jungle themes and three animation speeds.
  • An original kalimba soundtrack and sound effects, with separate volume controls.
  • Space or Enter rolls the dice on a keyboard.
Snakes & Ladders runs in the browser like its sister game LudoLive. Solo and pass & play races keep working offline once loaded; the privacy policy covers both games.
